Checklists of the Birds of Arkansas The 2005
AAS Field Checklist of the birds of Arkansas is now available
for downloading. This is a five page download. This valuable
resource provides a listing of all the species of birds that
occur in Arkansas with detail codes on distribution,
abundance, and dates of occurrence for each. This is a large
file (1.5 mb) and will take some time to download on a dial-up
connection. You will need the free pdf reader program
Adobe Acrobat installed to view and print the checklist.
Arkansas Field List
The 2005 bird Field List of Arkansas Audubon Society, the
Fiftieth Anniversary edition, is now available. A copy may be
obtained for $0.50 plus a large, self - addressed, stamped
envelope. (Two copies would require two stamps). Quantity
prices are available.

Documentation Supporting Listing in the AAS Field List This PDF document provides
supporting documentation for the listing of each species in
the Arkansas Audubon Society Field List. Documentation
includes photographs, specimens, recordings, or written
documentation that has been accepted by the Bird Records
Committee.

Ivory-Billed Woodpecker Record Accepted
After reviewing evidence of the ivory-billed woodpecker gathered in
the Cache River National Wildlife Refuge in April 2004, the Bird
Records Committee of the Arkansas Audubon Society has voted to
change the status of the bird in Arkansas from "extirpated" to
